Hi there can anyone please help me identify this problem and what I can do to resolve it? My guinea pig Wombat does not seem to be in pain or bothered by it at all but I don’t want her becoming unwell if it’s left unaddressed. I don’t know how old she is, possibly 2-4 years old, I rescued her because her buddy died and the family wanted to rehome her. She is so good-natured and happy.

Welcome to the forum
Any lump needs a hands on vet check for diagnosis and any treatment, it’s never possible to say what a lump is from a description or even with a picture.
Do have her seen and let us know how you get on at the vet. I hope she is ok

Hello and welcome,

Only a vet can diagnose the lump. Guinea pigs are quite prone to cysts (quite often of a sebaceous nature), but it is important to have any lump checked out by a vet to rule out other issues.

Does she have a companion now? It is very important that guinea pigs are not kept alone as they are social, herd animals.

Hope you can get a vet appointment and hope everything works out well 🤞

Thanks very much I’ll take her to the vet. Yes she has a baby girl piggie who is about 6 months and an older buddy who is maybe 1 year old. She gets along with them really well and enjoys their company. I would post a photo of her lump but I don’t know how to add images. I appreciate your feedback 😁
