I am a new owner to my guineas and I have noticed on one of them that between the nose and the mouth that there is a scab / blood there . Does anyone know what it is or how it might of happened? Thank you - so worried!

Is it possible to post a photo (hard to get, I know)?
How old are they, and how long have you had them?

Is the guinea pig with the sore still eating and drinking ok?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Are your piggies boars or sows (boys or girls) , how old are they and how long have they been together?

If you can post a photo it may help us comment further. If it looks like a dried blood scab then is it possible that they have had a fight and that the lip is torn? Young boars Sometimes battle for dominance if their hormones kick in.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I hope your little one is ok!

Hi @Sam hoffman I would have him checked over by a vet to be on the safe side.
Thanks for the advice though he seems to be doing okay. the blood hasn't been liquid, and it's a very small drop of blood. we think it might be because of raw skin being scrapes when he fell. but luckily he hasn't hurt his legs in the fall and breaths and eats well . thank you anyway.
