Hello everyone,
I have a 4 years old guinea pig, female (she is named Coffee).
Yesterday evening, she started to walk in an incorrect posture, with her head leaning towards the right.
Today it got worse, and she keeps walking like that. She also doesn't eat like before nor drinks water.
I heard it might be related to ear infection or neurological issues.
I am taking her to the vet immediately, I attached some photos in which her condition is visible.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Bless her. I’m so sorry she’s unwell. It’s good you are taking her to the vets. I hope it’s something easily treatable. Good luck

I’m sorry to hear this.

I'm glad you’ve got a vet appointment.

Please switch to emergency care.
Please step in with syringe feeding a recovery feed given she isn’t eating for herself.
She needs to be weighed every morning so you can ensure she is maintaining her weight and that you are feeding the right amount of syringe feed to do that - aiming for at least 60ml per day.

I hope she is ok

Hello.
Unfortunately the vet doesn't seems to know what to do.
He checked her but saw no problems.
I'll switch to emergency care and feed with syringes the guinea pig because she doesn't eat that much like before (she doesn't even drink half as much water as before) and it worries me. I am glad for the precious advices given to me here.
Meanwhile I'll search for another vet.
I'll update you in the future in case the situation gets better or worse.

I’m sorry to hear that.

I assume this means they didn’t give any painkillers or gut stimulants? This would be basic care at this point to help her with any pain she may be experiencing, and to help her with keeping her gut going.

Please do syringe feed her at least 60ml of syringe feed per day (40ml is the absolute minimum to keep her alive).

No unfortunately she didn't get any painkillers or gut stimulants. The vet thought she wasn't experiencing any pain whatsoever.
However, I am not so sure about it. I hope the next vet will have more knowledge about her condition.
Thank you so much for you help, I'll be sure to follow your advices.

Update 1 week later. After the necessary precautions, the guinea pig is back being healthy like before. Eats, drinks, interacts with the other guinea pig in the cage.
Thank you so much for the advices, they helped in the recovery.
However, I will keep an eye on her, I need to be aware in case similar symptoms occur again.
Thanks again.
