Hi,
My piggies have dandruff and I noticed on one of them there are very small light orange coloured insects. I have done research and believe they're lice. What products do you suggest and should I take them to the vets or just but treatment and treat them myself.
Also how dangerous is it and how quickly do I need to act. Obviously I'm not going to leave it but two products that I have found that are good (Xeno 450 and ivermectin) but I can only find online and postage may be slow.
It would be great for any suggestion, tips or any help!
Thanks :)

Hi there. As there are different types of parasites I would take them to the vet for a diagnosis. The vet will be able to advise you on treatment. Mange mites are the worst as they cause pain and spread quickly so I would get them seen right away. Good luck.

I would have them seen by your vet; he will give you suitable treatment - that is the quickest and safest route. ;)
Running lice move around and static lice or fur mites are sitting on the hair at the bum end. Mange mites, the worst skin parasite, is invisible to the naked eye.

Otheriwse, Gorgeous Guineas "lice'n'easy" shampoo comes in handy. http://gorgeousguineas.com/shampoos.html
