Just wanted to know if guinea pig mite spray is good enough to handle mites. I spray it all over the cage while cleaning, and onto their hair, as it says on the instructions. But feel its not enough.

My babies have a little bit of dandruff so sprayed them too, but just need to know if its enough to care for the mite problem.

Should i seek the vets medication.

For mites I would only use Xeno 450 or injections from the vet. I know their is spot on and I have used that for lice when I had less knowledge but wouldn't soley use it for mites. :)

I agree with S&T. You don't know what is in a spray and what toxins could be sprayed into the air.

Mange!

Just found out its mange mites :{ , but hopefully i can buy ivomec in bulk, need to ship it from queensland though :(. cant afford going to Vet, Complete Rip offs around Melbourne.

The mange mites affected my two Males, the hair falling off on the back and scabs showing.

I feel so horrible.

Thank you for the help.

Sprays are dangerous if inhaled, potentially risky if ingested. Topical or injectable ivermectin is the way to go. Good luck. :)
