Guinea pig physiology book

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good detailed book on guinea health, physiology etc?

I've looked around online, but it seems so hard to get much information at all. I have a degree in biology, and I'd realy like to know more about my piggies, a good book is what I need, any suggestions would be mcuh appreciated

The closest thing I have got is Diseases of Domestic Guinea Pigs by VCG Richardson - as the title says it is medically-minded. Although a good few years old, it's well worth having.

Vedra Stanley-Spatcher's book is not as detailed as I think you're after, but it's a good medical one to have to hand. Vedra's book is available from the website, you have to email/text/phone her to get a copy:

any more suggestions? I can't believe how difficult it is to find detailed information about guinea physiology online.

www.guinealynx.info is a good source of guinea pig medical care. You can get ideas of their physiology from what you read but all photographs/x-rays/scans are member-supplied (of the forums).

I can recommend the guinea pig lopedia as a starter for ten, so to speak. It;s helpful to have this on hand, I have passed this around to my friends and they have found it useful.
