One of my guinea pigs, Bonnie, sheds an awful lot. Fur just falls out her. :O
She gets like this every couple of months and I can sit and brush fur out of her for hours. If it wasn't for the fact that she's always been like this and shes not patchy or bald, I'd be more worried! None of the others have this problem and they're regularly treated for mites.

Is this normal? I've included a photo for reference, this was after just 15mins of brushing!

Some of mine have been like that. When you lift them off your lap, you're covered in hair. But there are no mites, lice or fungal. I think it's just some pigs shed more than others.

That's worse than my dog, I would have thought Bonnie would have shed at the beginning of summer. She's got a beautiful coat though shiny, so I wouldn't have said it was harmful.

Sundae sheds ridiculously (and she's the shorter-haired of the two pigs.) You can brush her (or even pat her) and end up with a ball like that. She never has visibly thinning fur or bald patches. I think it's just normal for her. Your piggie looks to have a healthy coat, I would only be concerned if you are seeing thin patches or bald patches.
