Hi wonder if anyone could provide some advice, my boy guinea pig of 6 years old apparently suffer from a stroke, initially he was crawling in circles. And 2 days later, he couldn’t move, I quickly brought him to the vet. The vet diagnosed him with ear infection and stroke. Apparently his ear recovered but he was still unable able to move except his head. He seem to be eating on his own but with a bit of struggle as hay and pellets need to be placed right in front of him with the water bottle adjusted to his reach. I will clean him and hand feed him twice a day too and trying to move his limbs “massage” He has been like that for about 4 weeks. I wonder if there is any chance he will recover. All he has to spent all his remaining life like this. Felt sad for him. What should I do?

If I'm honest I would pop back to the vet to review his condition and get an expert opinion on whether any improvement has been made and whether he is likely to improve further. If a piggy has lost their quality of life (ie they are unable to do normal piggy things for themselves) we are often faced with the tough decision over whether it is kinder to help them on their way rather than leave them to live a potentially unhappy life. Before making any decisions I would consult your vet though as they are familiar with him and should be able to give some guidance
