Sorry if this is in the wrong place, or titled wrong and thanks in advance.

I've had my rescue guinea pig for about 8 months now, And he's usually very happy, loud, pop corning whenever someone enters the room. But yesterday morning I noticed he was very quiet and curled in the corner, He stayed there most of the day. Also didn't eat his cucumber and food was barely touched for that day. He usually eats a lot and is more lively.

Also, he sometimes has white liquid around his eyes, which hardens up and I clean it away for him. I was never worried about this before, as I was told it's what they use to clean themselves, But now I'm thinking maybe it's serious?

I'm worried, we don't have any vets around my town that specialise in small pets treatment. My last guinea pig only got worse after the vet insisted to continuously inject him with medicine.

What could be wrong?
There is a cavy vet about a 40 minute drive from where I live, Is this car drive too much for a guinea pig?

The car drive should be fine. It is vital he sees a vet as him not moving is a sign he is very poorly. I would have him seen right away.

Please see a vet as soon as possible - your piggy sounds seriously ill and has not been eating for a day, so he needs treatment quickly to make sure his guts don't stop working. Not eating and curling up in corner are red alarm signs.

Start hand feeding your piggy in the meantime to keep the guts going; that is very important. Mush up pellets with some warm water and feed him that, little but often, as much as you can get into him, even if it is only a few ml at a time. Also give syringe him 1 ml of water for every 3-5ml of feed. Weigh him daily instead of weekly to keep an eye on his food intake.

The white fluid in the eye is cleaning fluid. If it always dries around the eye, there may be a minor issue with the tear duct, but it won;t be the reason for the sudden apathy and loss of appetite.
