My eldest guinea pig (5 years) Izzy ate some dandelions and grass about 4 days ago in my living room with my other guinea pigs which are both over a year old. They also ate the dandelions and grass. After eating the dandelions that day she went to toilet , when I went to clear I realized it was not normal. It was a clear liquid gel substance which had a brown patch in it. She walked around with her bum dripping which is very unusual for her. She kept trying to wipe it on the ground so I then went to wipe it off. She behaved normally after that. When I gave her the food I did not see a leaf that had gotten with it . She tried to eat it but I took it away as I felt unsure about her eating it. She only had 1 bite. I was wondering if this caused it. The brown patch in the substance could have been the leaf?

Since then she has been wanting lots more attention and would rather sit on my lap then run around on the ground with the other two. She likes to nap whilst on my lap . But when I start to feel like its been too long and she might need to go to toilet she cry and scratches. She usually is very calm to go back.

Tonight whilst all 3 pigs were on the floor she was dripping again. She hadn't done a wee before that. She just kept leaving marks and her bum was wet.

I'm growing increasingly concerned. ;I'm worried if we took her to the vets they wouldn't be able to do anything as they would have no evidence coming out. I'm unsure about what to do but it upsets me to see her this way. Every time I have had her out since I have not seen her do a full wee. Only drops.

It sounds like the beginning of a UTI (urinary tract infection) to me. Please have her checked by a vet. They are typical for for this time of the year when temperatures are most up and down. Your vet can express the bladder and test for blood/high protein content in the urine.
