Junior Guinea Pig
Hi All!
I have three Guinea Pigs ranging from 3-5 Years old. They have regular health checks and all healthy, however I just wanted to make sure the veg I am feeding them is okay and won't cause any health issues down the line as I know there is a lot to consider. I also want to make sure I am not overfeeding on veg (If that is possible).
I tend to give them 4-5 leaves of Romaine Lettuce in the morning.
A bag of mixed leaf salad in the afternoon:
- Lollo Rosso Lettuce.
- Green Batavia Lettuce.
- Green Multileaf Lettuce.
- Red Multileaf Lettuce.
And then usually half a pepper between them, or half a bag of butterhead leaf salad in the evening:
Red Butterhead Lettuce
Green Butterhead Lettuce.
Baby Spinach.
I have got in the habit of sticking with this as it provides a variety of veg and they all love it, and having searched each veg individually I know they are all safe for them. I'll sometimes swap out one for some coriander, or a bistro salad that contains beetroot, or a bit of apple once or twice a week.
I just wanted to make sure I am ok to continue with this diet, and there is no risk of too much of something (e.g calcium from both Spinach and Romaine Lettuce.)
