Guinea Pig With Sloppy Poo

Hi my guinea pig has been doing really sloppy poos recently, ive removed vegetables and thats had no effect but he refuses to eat hay ive tried several different types but hes still not very interested in eating any. In himself hes been fine still lively and acting normal anybody know what could be causing it thankyou

I would get him checked by the vet in case he has a bug of some kind. They should be able to test his poo. In the meantime, start giving probiotics and keep him hydrated. He can have Dioralyte throughout the day which will help with rehydation.

Here is a link about probiotics. I would recommend Fibreplex in this case as it contains extra fibre and should help firm things up.

he is worse today his poos are the same but he is struggling to stand he keeps shouting everytime he tries, ive rang the vet but wont be able to see him until the morning he has just advised me to wet his pellets and feed them to him

Is there not an emergency vet service at your vets? I really think he needs to see a vet today if possible.

took him to the vets first thing, he has been checked all over his tummy isn't inflamed and everything else is ok. The vet has given him some septrin to help his tummy (he thinks it could of been something from his hay that caused it) and also he may be a bit low in vitamin c. He had his first lot of septrin this morning and already seems a bit better, so glad its nothing more serious
