Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what the recommendations are regarding placing piggies onto grass that has had "feed n weed" type treatments on it.

Many of the items that you can buy say that they are safe for children and animals but I dont feel happy about placing animals onto grass that has had such treatment!

Am I just being paranoid here or is it something that should be avoided ? If so, how long would it be best to keep them off the treated grass for?

Many Thanks

I prefer to wait a while as well, you can never be too careful with such things. I agree with Bonnie's advice.

I'm tending to find that the more piggies I have the less lawn I need to feed! Their poops are doing an excellent job, it's all about selectively moving the runs about so no area is missed.;)

I thought your pigs never went oputside, or am I mistaken?

I find the lawns grow quickly enough without using chemicals.

That is true, AP - mine rarely go out, but they do go out for a time at least 2-3 times a year. Having moved house a lot, I have waited around 6 weeks after moving in before even considering putting the pigs on the grass due to the chance that the previous tenants treated the grass with anything.
