I just wrote a poem for my piggies blog (www.hutchagoodlife.wordpress.com)

Guinea Pigs Eat Anything!

Guinea pigs will eat anything,
A carrot destined for the bin,
A sequin off your favourite dress,
A pile of shredded paper mess,
A zip, a toggle, your back door keys,
The frayed hole in your trouser knees.
A toe, an ear, even your hair,
It's all food to them, and they don't care,
If you yelp or squeal, cry or shout,
They'll wonder what all the fuss is about,
And then turn to eat something new,
And there's nothing you can do.
Yes a guinea pig will eat anything,
Even their Mummy's jewellery bling!

The other idea for a final line was going to be 'Even Mummy's friend's engagement ring' but you had to be in the moment to understand. (Don't worry, both ring and piggy were fine in case anyone was worried!)

What's the strangest thing your piggies have ever tried to eat? :)

Hehe :)) Love it! Mine mainly chew through the bags of hay rolleyes Lexi's pulled some of my hair out before and they've nibbled on rings. Can't think of anything strange right now lol
 
I've currently got an interior designer again who happily eats wallpaper and the insulating thread from radiator valves - drip drip drip...
 
Nacho once stole some fizzy strawberry laces from the arm of the sofa while he was on lap time, actually ate a bit too, then tried to go back for more! we had a bit of a tug of war with it! luckily it was only a tiny bit he ate! mallethead
strange considering my pigs wont eat any sweet, shop bought treats!
 
mr piggles will go for any loose threads! from blankets to chew ropes to his wash towel given half a chance! hes tried eating my hair also and ive noticed his soft nemo toy hes nibbled the bottam so il have to stitch it!,and hes eating his hammock which is made out of hay,he loves to lay on it and nibble away its not going to be a hammock for much longer if he keeps chewing it! i think hes going through the nibbley stage at 12/13wks old! :(|)
 
My hair if they get half a chance so I have to make sure I tie it up and a couple of them have had a nibble on the pipe of the hoover :x
The girls trashed their balcony in the pen as it was made of willow - just ate their way through it :{
 
Basil has just pulled a button off of my favourite cardigan. :x Grrrr sometimes they are so naughty!

Machu nibbles my fingers ALL the time.

They also try to nibble a bit of wood chip pretty much every time I change their litter trays.
