Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to put it...
So I just changed my two boars onto fleece and they started popcorning everywhere and were overjoyed woth excitement:<>. Anyway, after using fleece, I really took notice to how much they poo, it is probably normal, I might just be used to having one piggy's amount of feces... Well, i changed the bedding and when I came back 3-4 hours later, poop was everywhere, I don't know if it is just more visible with the fleece and I never payed attention to it, but I took it out, shook it off and put it back in. Then another few hours later, I come back and there's even MORE poo!mallethead All the food they had today was pellets, which they have not completed the bowl off (surprisingly), Timothy Hay, and some Romaine lettuce which I gave after they pooped everywhererolleyes Is it just that I'm used to one guinea pig's amount of poo in sawdust, and not 2 guinea pigs pn fleece?:red or is something wrong?

I also wanted to ask, what is guinea pig poop meant to smell like? Just want to know because one of them ( i dont know which), has a strong-ish poo smell, like it smells normal but a bot strong...?

I don't think anything is wrong with your piggies :) I'm not that experienced or anything but as long as they are the normal shape and not too soft (could mean diarrhoea) then I think they are fine. When I had him on fleece I noticed more mess though so I'd say your just noticing it more :) And I think the smell is fine, Gi Gi's have a different smell when I change his food depends on diet I think. :)

It seems normal and I had a mini freak out when I noticed the amount! It is more noticeable on fleece. If you can you might be able to litter train them a little so that most of the poo is done in a tray. I have 3 litter trays - 2 on the bottom and one in the upstairs hay area.

I have 3 piggies on fleece, i have to sweep it once a day as there is a lot of poop in there. And i notice when it is all swept together, it does have a smell to it. A strange smell! I would think its all natural though like as people have said unless it is soft or misshapen

You notice poos more on fleece. I get them by the handful with nearly two dozen piggies... rolleyes You will need to poot patrol once or twice daily, as poos can quickly develop a rather strong aroma!

Only worry if a piggy is not pooing much - that is not a healthy piggy!

It's normal! If you had woodshavings or sawdust (a bedding with is fine) then the poo get's burried, so you can't see the real amount, but with the fleece, there's no where else for it to go other than it to stay on the top! Don't forget to get a mini vaccum or dustpan and brush to spot clean up poo each day!
