This is either me just being parnoid or a start of a URI. Ive had my two piggys for a year and every since ive had Gizmo he is 2 in December he has always been a noisy eater and sneezed on occassions not always, his nose sounds blocked but I can see no mucus or snot or wetness on his nose, like I said he has always sounded like this. He is a good weight and AWLAYS eating etc. :))He is a very happy piggy and his friend Joey is fine. Ive listened to his chest and all sounds normal clear lungs and no clicking, however his nose does sound like its clicking again not always. His breathing is normal and I checked Joey. He dosent have problems breathing and sleeps soundly with no sounds.
I just worry so much about my piggys as they are a part of the family.
I thought I would mention I use newspaper and megazorb for there cage. Ive just switched to megazorb as carefresh was expensive. They have hay which isnt dusty and there is no dust or smells in the house as I'm quite sensitive to dust etc. They did visit the vets last year and had a clean bill of health.
Also could I try a dap of vicks or just leave him? Any advice to put my mind at rest.mallethead

I would just leave him to it and stop worrying. Even dustfree hay has still dust, especially when a piggy sticks its nose into it with real enthusiasm!

both my guinea pigs do this, it's almost like weezing for mine tho, but no cold or problems eating, sleeping or drinking water. I've noticed one of mine keeps choking after it eats some food so I'm unsure about that but the weezing comes goes. What other stuff can I use apart from chipping/woodshaving? I'm from the UK.

Thanks for that, it puts my mind to rest. I always worry about them and thought it ws most probable me being parnoid!

Hi beautifilmess, I used to use carefresh and a layer of newspaper as a bedding as my one boy Joey didnt like the sawdust but because of the price of carefresh going up to £14.59 for the 50 lt in p@h I switched to megazorb and newspaper. I think its great and it only cost me £19.40 for two large 85 lt sacks. Ive heard you can get it from local horse supplies but I didnt have any near me that sold it, so I got it from this website:

It was the cheapest I could find and the price is with p&p. The sacks are very large so storage could be a problem if you have limited space, but I manged. I'm really pleased with it and so are my piggys.
Hope this helped.
