I’m not joking - I actually think that sat here with the ‘pottering chatter’, the sound of hay munching and occasional water bottle lick, I’m sure it would do the work of at least a proportion of any blood pressure, or anxiety meds that the Dr could prescribe.

There’s a lot to be said for animal therapy.

Yes - truth be told - Guineapigs are a lot more work than I expected, but they are worth the effort!

And that’s all I had to say! 🤣🥰

Agreed, I could have the worst day ever, come home and be welcomed by my 9 fur babies wheeking and all the bad things are gone, they brilliant and worth every penny and effort

This is so true. Guinea pigs are the perfect antidote for most of life’s ailments.

Of course, they also do a number on my blood pressure whenever they’re ill and you have like an hour to intervene to keep them going. 😅 so it probably evens out.

There was a mention on Radio 4 this morning by some Scottish Dr, - only jumped out at me because talking about COVID, long Covid, anxiety, mental health - he said something like "get a pet" and the presenter said "get a dog, cat, or even a guinea pig!" And of course I shouted out "Guinea pigS!" So yes I do believe they do us a world of good. Just a few minutes of watching their antics and a bit of interaction with them you can't help but smile and feel calm🧘‍♀️
