My guniea pig is 2 years old female from PetSmart I love her so much but when is acting strange she is always chetter her teeth together at me sleeps alot I know they sleep slot but also in day also she sleeps alot in night and she eats but she is acting weird I don't know if she is getting old she also gets scared of me also vibrates when I hold her or screams at me makes a noise like thumping noise with her mouth and chitters too I don't know what to do! Also in my other posts she is getting dandruff or something is she becoming old or something

@Adi65 2 years old isn't old, she's still quite a youngster.

If she has dandruff it would be worth taking her to a vet. If she is feeling itchy or uncomfortable that could be why she chatters or screams when you pick her up.

Hi, I agree with @Jaycey 2 is not old.
Piggies can live to 8years or sometimes older :)
Have you had her since she was a baby? Has she always been like this? Does she have s freind? Guinea Pigs are social animals and need their own company for stimulation.

It could be that she has mites or lice which I believe can look like dandruff, so a trip to the vets is definitely needed to check that out. Teeth chattering is a sign she's a bit annoyed, and the squealing that she is either scared or in pain. Is she living in her own? Guinea pigs really need company of their own species. There are lots of helpful threads in the forums tab which will help with getting her used to you - try the guinea pig whispering techniques. They are prey animals and you need to develop a bond and trust with them before they're happy being handled (although some are never happy about it) I hope you get to the bottom of what's upsetting her x

My mom says no she doesn't hasn't go to the vet because my mom thinks I am overreacting so I dont know what to do my mom takes care I think alot and worry lot for no reason so my parents think I am doing the same thing what can I do?

Your little girl really does need to see a vet if she's got dandruff as she could have mites or a fungal infection. This could also be the reason for the chattering. How about showing your mum this thread so she can see for herself that a vet visit is wise :)
Guinea pigs are social animals so she would be much happier with a friend :)

She lives by her own my mom recently now stays home so she isn't alone but doesn't have a companion or a friend because if we introduce a new guniea pig I don't want them to fight most people adopt together that's why they get along if I am right?

I would have her seen by a vet, as chattering her teeth may be a sign of pain and if you are also seeing dandruff/skin irritation she should be assessed for mites, which are quite painful. Guinea pigs live on average 5 to 7 years, so no change you see at age 2 is due to age, she is literally in the prime of life right now. Asking PetSmart won't accomplish much, as they cannot prescribe medications and although it seems like they would know a lot about the animals they sell, quite often pet stores know less than your typical pet owner.

It's never too late to introduce a friend, as guinea pigs are naturally social. They do not have to meet as youngsters to get along (in fact, the pair I have now are age 4 and age 1, so clearly did not meet as babies!) It is important if you are considering another pig to be 100% sure of the gender of the pig you have, as well as the minimum size requirement for two pigs, and you would have to rule out and/or treat any health issues in your existing pig. So it's a great idea that would be great for your pig, but not something to go into without some research and foresight!

A pair which have been together is definitely the best way, but if you can get her a pal, it would be ideal. Your mum is company, but with the best will in the world, she doesn't talk guinea pig. I think getting her skin condition sorted is your priority, but in the longer term if you could look to a rescue and try to bond her with another girl or a neutered male would be ideal, as guinea pigs are herd animals, and (unlike hamsters) not wired to live alone. I'm sure if you were to get her a pal, you would see a very happy piggy. Here are some threads you might find useful/interesting.
