Hair coming out

Strange one this - had my girls out for floor and lap time. Whilst my other half was stroking Misty he held his hand up and her fur was all over it. He very gently stroked/pulled and small clumps were coming out. We brushed her and again lots of hair. There was literally a small handful and our sofa looks like a huge white dog has rolled on it! We have been back and forth to vets with Storm and had Misty checked each time, clean bill of health. Have had a look at her skin and no visible soreness etc. For comparison we stroked and brushed Storm and she does not have the same problem. Is it anything to worry about or is it moulting?

We have put them back onto clean fleece so will check the fleece in the morning for fur. They are now over 4 and have never seen anything like it!

It can be moulting; some piggies do shed some hair occasionally; it is pretty evenly all over the body for a week or two. Piggies also can shed lots of hair for a day or two when they are very stressed by either an illness (I have that a couple of times) or a bad situation, like the loss of a mate. some piggies are more prone to do this than others.

If the hairloss is on the sides and the belly, you have to thinks about hormonal problems. http://www.guinealynx.info/hairloss.html

Keep an eye out for itchiness or bald patches over the next few days, just in case.

Hairloss is on her sides and back, wherever you stroke normally. Will keep a good eye, it would have to be not long after her vet check!

It is going to be one of those days I think - water is now coming down into our kitchen from the bathroom above, it is a rental property and landlord says wait til morning, when I have an interview and OH is going away for a week from the afternoon! x
