Is shedding hair normal for guineapig ? My big boy is scratching his genitalia and sometimes he pulls some hair from there . It's not naturally shedding . He is basically pulling them out.. and when he sleeps he get really big like fluffy ball .he went to vet yesterday. And he didn't give anything for that particularly. Am I thinking much ? He is 500 gm and his teeth are a little big due to not eating hay .

Purposefully pulling and eating hair can be for a variety of reasons - pain, overgrooming, stress etc

Barbering ( Eating Hair)

Did you speak to the vet about the fact he is very underweight for his age and the fact he isn’t eating hay? As we have said before, his diet is not a good one and his teeth will get worse if he doesn’t eat any hay as they won’t be wearing down properly.

Yes I told him . But he said there's nothing to do if he doesn't eat . He said that might be happening because he didn't get any grass of hay after he was born . And also we don't have privilege to cut their teeth short . Hoping for the best I guess.

No I think photos of the hair loss. You won’t be able to show photos of the teeth given an owner cannot see the molars properly.

I know it’s hard for you to find a vet to diagnose what is going on, there are many causes of hair loss but we can’t tell you why he is actually doing it

His hair loss isn't that visible. I mean he plucks them but I don't exactly know from where. But I'll try to find out the place and give you photo

As I said, piggies can pull hair out for a variety of reasons. If it is from a specific area then it can often be a sign of pain in that area.
