I've been looking at the ferret hammocks myself. They have them at the pet stores here, although I find them pretty expensive. Most were around $16 but I did find one for half that. Wish that I had picked it up now They seem pretty similar aside from different materials.

Probably depends on piggy's personality more than age. My boys were 3 & 4 years old when I got the hammock in the photo. Peanut Butter ended up figuring it out. Hazelnut is the one hiding inside but then he typically loves being surrounded by fabric while PB has always been the more adventurous one.
