Handling A New Guinea Pig When She Is In Heat

Is it advised to handle my female guinea pig named Wiggy!, while she clearly is in heat. She must be about 12 to 14 weeks old according to the pet shop staff.
I've only had her for two weeks and I'm trying to get her to trust me. I bought two females together. The other one named Piggy! was in heat within the first week of my buying them. Please let me know as I really love them and don't want to stress them out. Thanks

It doesn't matter at all whether they are in season or not when you handle them; they are doing that roughly every two weeks for about a day anyway!
