This is Ralph. Or there should be a picture of Ralph in receipt of some healing from my husband Nick. (If there is not - I will try and work it out as showing in attach files box below the box I'm typing in)
About a month a go now Ralph had an accident. Pop corning round his run with some his friends Hector and Arthur. Ralph bounced / ran into one of the wooden support posts. There was then what I can describe as a guinea pig scrum with Ralph at the bottom.
The guys were not fighting just a fluky incident. I think Ralph was out cold for 10 / 20 seconds and came round screaming in pain. Thinking he had perhaps broken some teeth or damaged his nose I picked him up to access the problem.
No obvious damage. Ralph's screams continued. I put Ralph back on the ground to then watch him attempt to walk away without the use of his rear legs!
On auto pilot I immobilized Ralph in a shoe box and drove straight to my local vet. Who concluded nothing was broke - more than likely a shock injury. Next 24 hours would tell. If he couldn't walk properly then or got worse then euthanasia may have to be considered. Ralph was given a metacalm injection.
I spoke to Laura (cheers for the support at the time) and Vedra at the CCT who said she would admit Ralph for observation. Ralph stayed with Vedra for two weeks. He had some electro treatment and pain killers. Vedra Xrayed Ralph and confirmed nothing was broke. Possibly a trapped nerve.
There were concerns that Ralph in just the short period of time had calcium build up in his rear knee joints. This could hinder Ralph's recovery if Ralph was every going too.
On return home Ralph was still reluctant to use his back legs. Pulling himself a long by his front. Nice shoulder muscles I can tell you.
Ralph had a pain killer twice daily (finished now sorry cant remember the name). Still no joy with his back legs.
Nick OH started using healing as an alternative. And you know what - Ralph has started to use his rear legs. His right rear leg appears to be back in action if not a little slow. The left works down to the knee joint (foot gets dragged a little) so we will continue and see how Ralph goes.
Coincidence? Who knows - The heat from Nicks hands is incredible and Ralph after a session is very warm!
Thought I would share this with you all.
