My boar, George, has a hard lump just near his bum. I have heard that faeces can get stuck in manpigs and was wondering if this sounds like the case and how I am able to expell them?

Many thanks :)

Is it above the anus? So on his back end, near the grease gland... Because I remember being a bit worried about a lump on my boar thinking it was a blocked grease gland, then realised it was his tail bone rolleyes :)). Just wondering if this might be what you're feeling. Ignore me if this is not the case :))

Impaction feels like a hard lump inside the skin between the testicles, behind the anus. It is usually the size of a large marble before owners become aware of it and needs expelling.

If it is an over active grease gland then it will need cleaning - a small amount of baby oil worked in and then shampoo'd off usually does the trick.

It could be that you are feeling the skeletal structure and it is completely normal as the remnants of a tail are there too, more prominent on some pigs.

Hello, Thanks for replying so quickly :)

I think it might be his tail bone as it is quite above the anus, but I did have a feel of my other 2 pigs and they don't have an lumps, but they are both much younger than George so maybe it is his tail bone and the other 2 haven't developed theirs yet :P

I have tried massaging it but nothing comes out. Don't tell me I was massaging his tail bone ha ha!
