So my middle child started feeling lousy yesterday and today has a fever, a sore throat, a mild cough, malaise, and aches and pains. The soonest we could book for a COVID-19 screening was Monday morning. So now we wait. Ironically, this particular child hasn't been out of the house in ages (we are doing online school this year), but it's possible that my husband or I (who do the shopping) or her sister (who has a piano class that just reopened and has gone to the orthodontist recently) provided a vector. Someone brought SOMETHING home, anyhow. Poor kiddo, it's stressful waiting for the test and then another couple days to wait for the results.
She seems pretty good right now, Advil knocks down the fever and she feels better, goes back to laying down when the Advil wears off and the fever returns. I'm trying to separate as best as we can, but it's not a big house and all three kids and I were shoulder-to-shoulder on the couch playing Nintendo yesterday, so it's probably a lost cause. I suspect that my youngest child and I had COVID this time last year (at the time our province was not testing anyone who hadn't traveled, but there was community transmission going on and our province went to full lockdown 7 days after we got sick), but my husband and son haven't had symptoms. Any good 'negative test' and 'no one else get sick' vibes would be appreciated!
