I was wondering if anyone could help, I am having problems with Logan, his behaviour towards me is aggressive and its now starting to worry me. Recently (over the last month, month and a half) he has started to bite, not nip, full on bite, every occasion he has drawn blood and believe me it hurts! :x

I have ruled out the “simple†things i.e; full health check at the vets he was a lovely healthy guinea pig but he did bite my vet when she was holding himrolleyes, I wash my hands before holding him, change my clothes to remove my other piggies scent, I feed him treats when out, I tried time out when he bite me, lots of praise and love when he is behaving, talking to him softly etc, none of which have worked.

Now it’s not only the biting that’s getting out of hand it’s his constant wriggling and scratching when I am holding him, most people would immediately think plenty of handing would stop this issue, but he has been handled every day since birth by me so I can’t figure out why he is being such a rebel. :{

Can anyone offer some advice, this biting lark is really getting to me, I am also scared that he is going to bite other people if they try and handle him.?/

Sorry I havent been around much, Lola hasnt been well & neither have I:(

First off i'm really sorry to hear you've not been well or Lola either :...

HUGS AND HEALING WISHES XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx

Does he seem to be more sensitive in certain spots do you think?
How bout when you pick him up have him in a towel or a cosy and just leave him on your lap but don't stroke him.......do this a for a week maybe then try stroking him gently again. Hopefully somebody else can advise love xx>>>

Thanks Glynis, Lola is on the mend now so its all good :))

Logan is still really loving when he wants to be, I put it down to him being grumpy but surely he shouldnt be lashing out like this?
There is no pattern to his behaviour, if he wants to bite he will bite its not something I can as such prevent, unless I want to wear a padded jacket and gloves lol.

I have tried him in his bed and on a towel and neither have worked, I have also had both of the boys on my knee for cuddles and YB will settle down and LB just goes off on one.

I really cant put my finger on it...grrrr

I have an anti human guinea too, he bites and nips whenever he's been held, he was fine until he hit 6 months old since then hes just a moody pig, hes 2 in feb! I tried everything - nothing works with him, he's happy to be "wild" He's also teaching his cage mate Rodger to be the same :( They are however very happy and healthy piggies - if they don't want to be fussed over then i leave them and just leave them to play on their own during play time.

Only time they want attention from me is when they know its veggie time {:|
