My boys get through a lot of fresh meadow hay which I put down in a big pile for them to tunnel in - they just love it. I also have a hay rack with some timothy hay, prefer to keep this in a rack as its quite spiky and I worry about them poking themselves in the eye with it.

Anyway, I wanted to get some dried herbs and more unusual hays like alfalfa to sprinkle about and make things more interesting for them. I've just been looking on a website called galens garden but the choice is huge and I'm a bit lost where to start! :{

What dry herbs are most popular with your piggies? Can anyone recommend a good first order I want a few different herbs and a couple of hay types to try but am not sure what to go for!

Thanks

Hi, Ive ordered form Galens before. The produce is excellent quality. My piggies loved the green wheat forage! they went nuts for it. They hated shepards purse. They also enjoyed blackberry leaf and the mallow herb. Apparently they love plantain as well, but Ive not tried this one yet. But definetly get the green wheat forage :)

I'll let you know which are a hit with my boys once they've tried them! :)

Please do! They look lovely and green, the must really stock only good quality products then as yours lot look as lovely as mine!

Right...

They loved the green wheat and the green barley grass - these 2 were the clear favourites. drooldrool

The Alfalfa is like quite twiggy hay - they like this too and have gone back to it now the yummier stuff is all gone.

There were a few different types of plantain - I went for the broad leaf one and they haven't touched it. ha! It looks a little unappetizing next to their usual veggies but I don't think they realize that it's food.

The very veggie mix has been sniffed over and one or 2 bits picked out but they don't seem too impressed with that.

The only one I've not tried is the mixed hedgerow herbs. I do think they'll like this but my dad nabbed it when I called round after work (for our tortoise Fred to try first.)

Let me know if you try any others! x

Yeah my wheat hay was the firm favourite as well! I will avoid the plantain in future. I will get some of that grassy stuff though! I cant wait to make my next order. Is it wrong i could spend our browsing and reading all about the differen herbs etc?

There were a few different plantains - if you do get one I'd go for one that looks more herby than leafy my pigs just stuck their noses up at it. Otis just looked at me like "you expect me to eat that?".

I'd get some of the green barley grass too, they loved that as much as the green wheat stuff.

I know, I'm exactly the same... on payday all my friends at work were ordering clothes and new shoes etc whilst I was browsing at herbs and snuggle sacks for my piggies! What has happened to me?!?
