I was just putting in another hayboxclub order for timothy hay and meadow hay and I saw they also sell pellets, I wondered if anyone has tried these or seen any nutritional info?
All the website said was they contain 21 different grasses and meadow plants. They looked to he make of compressed grass in the photo. Which sounds great, except they dont say online what those plants are, or whether the proportions are consistent, and what is added to them if anything!
If its 21 different grasses it sounds a bit like the Rosewood hay cookies, but at least they list the ingredients! I'm all for natural meadow products but I also like to see what those plants are and what else is in the food and they arent giving that info... I mean if it was mostly alfalfa or something that would be no good...any thoughts or experience with this product anyone?

I asked them a while back what it contained via their facebook page. What I got back was:

Ingredients:
Permanent meadows (timothy, meadow fescue, meadow foxtail, ryegrass, red fescue, blue grass, cocksfoot, velvet grass, annual panicle grass, white ragweed, vernal grass, couch grass, tussock grass, reed canary grass, white clover, red clover, dandelion leaves, yarrow herb, ribwort, caraway, cow parsley, meadow sweet, common hornwort, bedstraw, thyme-leaved speedwell, bush vetch, comfrey, bedstraw-meadow thistle, ground ivy, daisies, germander speedwell, lady's mantle, greater burnet-saxifrage, narrow-leaved vetch, meadow saxifrage, spring cinquefoil, green field-speedwell, common whitlow-grass, autumn dandelion, red ragweed, cowslip, small clover), sunflower seed extracted, linseed extracted, fruit pomace, carrot pomace, rape seed extracted.

Analytical constituents:
crude protein 13% · crude oils and crude fats 2,7% · crude fibre 21% · starch 6% · crude ash 8,5% · calcium 0,6% · phosphorous 0,4% · sodium 0,18%

I quite liked them as did my piggies, but unfortunately even with the small amount I feed, pellet wise, it didnt work out to be cost effective for 11 pigs!

Thanks, yes they seemed quite expensive but I wondered if they might be nice mixed with our science selective grain free pellets or fed as treats!

Not an answer to your question but I received my first boxes of meadow and Timothy hay from Hay Box, this weekend. Impressed so far, hay lovely and green and doesn’t seem to affect my allergies either which is a massive bonus. I can’t order from certain companies as some of them affect my breathing.
