I got a selection of hays from the Hay experts for my pigs xmas pressie - so they could pick their fave and go from there.

They enjoy the Oat, Wheat & Barley the most, secondly Aplhine Meadow and Redigrass. They were the top three.

My question is if I was to get them the above three in big bags, how oftern could they have them? I know some hays are better as treats whilst some can be fed unlimited. Redigrass I have read is high in calcium so I guess a handful once a week?

They have meadow hay unlimited to play with and eat, with their regular timothy hay in handfuls to eat. I also get them the Excell forage.

IS the Wheat, Barley and Oat not an Alpha hay. I think goodness don't quote me Alpha is high in Calcium, so sparingly. I fed it once every 3 days.

Readigrass again high in Calcium I feed a handful once every 4 days or so not much atall.

Alphine Madow no Idea, if its normal hay daily.

Younger pigs I believe they are allowed Alpha hays daily, as they are growing?

If the hay is alfalfa king - oat, wheat and barley hay then it doesn't contain any alfalfa, that just the brand name. Only the alfalfa king, alfalfa hay contains alfalfa. :))

This is the oat, wheat and barley hay, purple label.

I agree with Flintstones, feed the readigrass as a treat once a week in small amounts.

Maybe try burns hay my pigs loved the oat hay and the bunny nature hay. Also the vitakraft hay is sweet smelling and my pigs enjoyed this one. But its out of stock at the moment.
