Hay snobs?

My piggies all get Timothy hay from hay box and they love it but with 14 piggies it can get quite expensive so I decided to try a bale of hay from my local farm shop (In the past they have eaten the odd meadow hay from pet shops when I have raj out of Timothy due to shipping delays) Well you should have seen their faces. It was disgust and disappointment honestly 😂.

They all take the Timothy hay from my hand but turned their noses up at the bale hay.. 🤣
I have mixed it together in the hope they will eat some but I think they are decided on their favourite food lol.

As you can see in the pictures the Timothy does look gorgeous and green but look at all that beautiful meadow!

Our 4 have always loved their timothy hay. About a month ago we’ve also introduced them to orchard hay. Guess who‘s no longer eating timothy? No joke, we haven’t had to fill up their timothy hay bags at all in like 3 weeks! 😂 They are such little characters.
 
I get mine pasture hay, he likes it. 🙂
I have heard that guinea pigs LOVE orchid hay, but I'm yet to try it on my piggy.
 
Mine went on hunger strike when I had to buy a different brand of pellets... I tried to mix the new pellets with their usual brand so I didn't waste money, but they literally picked out the brand of pellets they liked and left the rest!
 
Our boys enjoyed a hay bar last night! (Hand in the photo was me trying not to fall over or spook them while taking photo).
They love the stalky Timothy hay but leave most of the stalks, so it’s a treat. Also have 4 different types of hay currently on the go. 🤣View attachment 172783View attachment 172783

Don’t know how I ended up with double photo.
 
Same with mine. They were perfectly fine with pet shop hay for bedding and eating and oxbow timothy/orchard grass mix for the first 18 months they were here. I then discovered Haybox 18 months ago which is such a big hit, nothing else is ever going to be good enough ever again!
