Hi guys! I brought back my two piggies yesterday and they were hiding in their hidey the whole time and I know it's normal. I have also been spying them from far and see they have eaten the vege and some pellets I had put out. The problem is the hay tho. I'm scared they aren't eating enough hay because I don't see them sitting by the hay rack or hay pile to eat ): Is this normal? Their poop are normal btw and they are drinking from the bottle too.

As they are new piggies, they will likely be scared to sit by it. Ensure you put hay everywhere in the cage,
particularly in any hideys, so that they do not need to come out to eat while they are feeling frightened. Cover most of their cage with a sheet or blanket, so they feel more secure
You cannot judge hay intake by eye in any event, so once they are more settled and you start their lifelong weekly weight checks, then those weight checks are the only way to know they are indeed eating enough hay.
Pellets to be kept limited to one tablespoon per pig per day, and veg one cup per pig per day.

So I shouldn't worry about their hay intake for these few days?

Hay is their main source of food for their entire lives, so yes you do need to ensure they are eating it but as they are new you need to let them settle by covering their cage for a week and leaving them alone (only feeding them, and spot cleaning the cage carefully during this time). They will come out to eat when they feel safe, but as I said, also ensuring hay is readily available everywhere in their cage including in the hides at all times, so they can eat freely and not have to come out of hides yet if they don’t want to. They will start to come out more as they feel safe, they will probably come out overnight or when youre aren’t there watching them.

Mine have half the cage with ikea dolls beds and fleece and half with newspaper and hay, which also has a large hiding space.

They live in an 8 x 2 c and c cage and spend a lot of time hiding in the hay!
