Hi everyone.
Well, Snickers seems to be setteling into his new home very well. He wasnt eating to start with but i think that was just because he was still a little nervous but now i think he officialy owns the piggy world record for parsley demolition. ;D

The problem is though, he doesnt seem to be using his back legs and he's very slowly and cumbersom when he does.

he would rather elongate his whole body to reach food rather than walk over to it.

Also i dont think he's drinking. I opted to give his water in a bowl rather than bottle purely because its easier to keep the bowl clean. but the water level doesnt seem to go down at all.

Any suggestions?

Thanks everyone.

Mine sometimes stretch out with their fronts to reach food rather than move to get it.I think its because they"re nervous.Mine only do it when they"re having time out in the living room and somebody different is here.Have you got any hidey holes for him?

Mum is right, nervous pigs will stretch out and try and reach food without moving.I think to be on the safe side though, you should put him in your hallway or somewhere and make him move around so you can check the mobility.

If you think he is not drinking you will have to give him water via syringe otherwise he will get dehydrated.Give him plenty of wet veg because this gives them fluid as well.Cucumber is full of water. When I wash greens etc,I do not shake the water off.

Glad to hear Snickers is settling in. :)

Mary is right, you need to check his mobility to make sure his back legs are okay.

Do you give him a good mix of veggies? Parsley is good as it helps their digestive system but too much of it isn't good. If he has a mix of fresh veg daily thats great & this could be why he isn't drinking. Mine don't seem to drink. They used to but I haven't seem them drink for ages & they leave doesn't go down so I just change it regularly in case they do get thirsty.
