My boy branston is slowing right down bless him, I have brought him indoors where he has now lived for the best part of 2 months,

but i have noticed he isn't moving as much just recently and is sleeping an awful lot, he only gets up these days to go to the bottle and food bowl,

Is such a shame they have to get old :(

Aww Branstone's such a lovely piggy :smitten:
hugs them xx

I know i have a six year old but she doesnt sleep any more than the lazy youngsters she lives with but i do keep a close eye on her you want them to go on for ever dont you :smitten:

It is sad to see them slowing down. Peggy is getting much slower and lazier now too. I wish they had much longer life spans. :'(

wow that's a great age, but unusual isn't it for a guinea to live that long isn't it?

Fluffy is 6 (next month) and she has become very slow. Mind you she has 2 huge ovarian cysts which I am sure must weight her down. Now she has bumblefoot on one of her from foot which is also not helping with her mobility.

I lover her to bits, she has become so friendly over the years.
The younger ones are a bit scatty sometimes but fluffy loves nothing more than spending the night on the sofa with me and being stroked :smitten:
I will be absolutely devastated when her time comes :'(

My Lois is 6 in feb too, she hasnt really slowed down.. she sleeps alot but so does everybody else lol she still wanders around, eats loads.. some people say they seem to lose weight and go a bit boney looking/frail but she certainly hasn't! shes a little porker! lol

Morgan is the same she's 6 next month, and is still really active and holds a good weight, eats plenty :)

oh dear Branstone has been sitting all afternoon and still is now with his head right down in the hay, he is reacting when i call him but puts his head back down, he gobbled his greens this morning, but his breathing is fine and so is his poo and appetite, it just looks like he is tired,

I will be very sad to lose him,

Fred(sow) was 6yrs old at the beginning of the month, she is a P@H piggy so its estimated and since I put Kanika with her she has a new lease of life. She adores Kanika following her around and cuddling.
Molly is 6yrs on the 15th (I bred her myself) and she is feeling the age but is very fit and healthy girly.
Emma x

yes but i do not want to get another boar because if Brans dies i will be left with another boar who i will have to pair up again :( and as we all know that can be frustrating
