Just 10 minutes ago my guinea pig finished eating his salad then started jerking his head forward like a chicken pecking at something. There was no sound at all and after 10 seconds it stopped. He is acting normal, weighs the same and is eating. I think it could be hiccups but it is silent and more “aggresive”

Could you please let me know if you know what this is. Thank you so much

Hi!

Guinea pig can have what is called 'heaving hiccups', which are like what you are describing. thankfully they usually never last long and are rarely repeated. ;)

Are these normally quiet? My guinea pig wasn’t making any noises

Yea they are quiet, my Guineas have done this before, it looks worrying, but it passes after about 30 seconds. My rats get it too actually
