Healing vibes for Enoch please - Eye injury

I forgot to add, have you tried having Lacey on your lap with a friend on Lacey's none blind side? This was suggested to me and it really helped in keeping the bonds going.

Yep, she's fine then, its just when in 'her'cage she gets very territorial which means I cannot put company in with her (although she accepted Biscuit nut she's at Debbie's now..I am losing track of where all my guineas are!).

In fact they all spent Sunday evening in the indoor cage at my parents whilst we had Sunday dinner and they just stiffed each other then all fell sound asleep! have bitten the bullet and been putting her in the shed a few hours a day. Her eye is sealing up now and myself and the vet decided mentally she may heal better when a bit more happy. She seems to like the routine and there is no fighting at all, she does tend to keep herself to herself but I think thats just time as she feels vulnerable. I dare not keep her out there full time for now but at least this way is best of both worlds for now. She seemed much happier last night!

How are your Enoch and Eliza today?

I introduced Eliza back to her friends gradually and she too was so much happier. I'm pleased Lacey is doing well and the fact she gets on ok with her friends away from her cage is a good sign.

Eliza is a lot more wary now. When she first went back with them, I was worried as she spent a lot of time alone and I thought she was being bullied but I have come to realise it was her choice. Although she still prefers her own company now, she mixes with the others more than she did so just sit it out.

Thank you. Enoch is more or less back to normal. Eliza has a gunky eye today. It still worries me a lot but I guess I have to trust the vet that it is what it is.

Hiya

What you say is identical to Lacey. She is much more wary and does keep her self separate, not too far but out of harms way. She did clearly bash herself the other day as she had a slightly bloody mark vertical on the wound but it seems fine. Not sure what she bashed it on as I thought I had moved everything out of harms way! But she gets better every day. She HATES having her socket syringed though and is getting naughtier daily but I thin she is also just feeling much better too.

I guess Eliza's eye will settle with time. I think Lacey's will be the same to be honest. She has a little hole in the socket which I syringe daily and put a lotion in. We are just waiting for the weeping to stop and the hole to close up. Who knows how long that will take! Labour of love but I do love seeing her improve daily. They are little fighters are'nt they!

xx

Aww bless her but it is great news that Lacey is improving daily.

Eliza hated having her socket syringing too :( Is the vet still syringing for you and what lotion are you putting in? xx

Hiya

I am doing if myself now. It's actually quite therapeutic! She is calmer with me but has the odd 'princess moment'! It's fucithalmic. I am leaving her in the shed tonight... She wriggled like mad when I took her out this morning and practically jumped out of my arms to get in so I figured it was time. I will check her frequently but think she'll be fine. I will miss my house pig tho! X

I am sure she will be fine and feel better with her friends. It was the same with Eliza though when she went back out. I missed her nit being in the house :(

I'm pleased you are able to do it yourself now. It isn't so bad once you get used to it.

Ah yes, Eliza has fucithalmic too xx

They are so similar are'nt they!

Yes I have got used to it now, didn't think I would but when you have to you just do it don't you? She is a cheeky monkey so keeping everything crossed she'll heal soon. I am still shocked at how she growled the other day when her stitches came out! How did Eliza behave? X

Yes, they are very similar and yes, when you have to do something, I guess you have to just get on and do it.

I have never heard a guinea pig growl before. How strange. May be Lacey just didn't like it.

Eliza hated having her eye syringed and drained and would fidget, squeak and pull away. It was awful.

Eliza didn't have her stitches removed as it was the pus that pushed them out :( It was technically tr pus that was holding the eye socket together. She was really good though x
