Jerrybelly
Senior Guinea Pig
I would really appreciate some healing vibes for my Jerrypig. I've just got in to find spots of blood in the cage. Popped him out in the kitchen to get a better look and his wee is bright pink
He's crying when he's weeing too.
He has been doing so amazingly well the last few weeks. I had even managed to slowly reduce his Metacam from 0.32ml to 0.2ml, once daily. I know it doesn't sound a lot, but I've been so pleased with him. He's been full of beans, and has only been having the occasional squeaky wee.
It's heartbreaking to see him crying again. I'm trying to stay calm. With his bladder sludge, blood is not immediately cause for concern. His bladder is continually being irritated by the sludge, so some 'breakthrough blood' is expected. I'm really really hoping that's all it is.
He had his Metacam this morning, so I can't give him any more today. But tomorrow I think I'll give him the higher dose again and continue with that for a few days in the hope that it is just a bit more bladder irritation than usual.
I'm keeping an eye on his weight and will take it a day at a time. He's finished all of his nuggets today, and is happily munching hay. If the blood is still there by Sunday then I'll take him to the vets.
