Healing vibes needed for Jerry

I would really appreciate some healing vibes for my Jerrypig. I've just got in to find spots of blood in the cage. Popped him out in the kitchen to get a better look and his wee is bright pink :( He's crying when he's weeing too.

He has been doing so amazingly well the last few weeks. I had even managed to slowly reduce his Metacam from 0.32ml to 0.2ml, once daily. I know it doesn't sound a lot, but I've been so pleased with him. He's been full of beans, and has only been having the occasional squeaky wee.

It's heartbreaking to see him crying again. I'm trying to stay calm. With his bladder sludge, blood is not immediately cause for concern. His bladder is continually being irritated by the sludge, so some 'breakthrough blood' is expected. I'm really really hoping that's all it is.

He had his Metacam this morning, so I can't give him any more today. But tomorrow I think I'll give him the higher dose again and continue with that for a few days in the hope that it is just a bit more bladder irritation than usual.

I'm keeping an eye on his weight and will take it a day at a time. He's finished all of his nuggets today, and is happily munching hay. If the blood is still there by Sunday then I'll take him to the vets.

Oh no Cath, really sorry to hear this.

I would definitely up hs metacam again to the higher dose, as it seemed to be working.

Let us know how he is. Lots of love to him and healing vibes. Hugs to you x x

Best thoughts and wishes to Jerry xx

I haven't forgotten his cystaid, I've just not managed to get to a post office because of work. I'm off Monday though so will get it to you then :)

Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes guys! I've had a very hectic weekend so haven't been able to update sooner.

Jerry is doing okay. He has responded well to the higher Metacam dose and his squeaky wees have become less frequent again - still a little more often than I would like, but there are signs of definite improvement.

The blood in his wee is now no longer visible to the eye, but is still showing up on test strips. I'm hoping this means that the bladder irritation is starting to decrease again with the anti-inflammatory properties of the Metacam, but I'm keeping a watchful eye.

His weight remains stable, and his appetite is as normal.

Here's a little picture of my Special Boy. He's very grateful for your thoughts.
