Amysmom
Teenage Guinea Pig
I can't believe that we have now lost our beautiful Millie three weeks after losing Daisy. Millie had a water infection (just like Daisy) and was being treated with Septrin, it seemed to be working-no more blood around the cage. She didn't lose any weight like Daisy did so I didn't see the need to give her critical care although I didn't see her at the hay as much.
At 11.00 o'clock last night I got her out the cage and she looked as though she was slipping away, I put her on my lap and noticed that she felt very bloated and she was drawing herself up so she was clearly in pain. We gave her Infacol and massaged her sides but I couldn't bear the noises she was making so we rushed her to the emergency vets. He examined her and said that the wall of her bladder was thickened so he said there may be a bladder obstruction. He listed all the things we could do-X-ray, fluids etc but I knew in my heart it was hopeless, I just wanted her pain to stop. I kissed her and said goodbye. Is it possible that Millie had a bladder stone just like Millie?
