Hello everyone, I was wondering how you get rid of heaving hiccups in a piggie. They've been lasting about three days and I was wondering if I could help my pig out. :(

does it occur at certain times, such as eating too quickly? or is it very often? my eddie has them quite alot bless him, but more because he has a tiny mouth and tries to eat too quickly.

if it has been alot then maybe a vets visit would be best, just to make sure nothing is irritating the airways or anything. x

Hi! If the hiccups are constant, then please see a vet; he may have some food stuck in his airways that he cannot dislodge.

Quite a few greedy piggies can get them when gulping down food too quickly; they can cough or hiccup afterwards.

I currently cannot reach a vet so that is my worry but thank you for the advice.

These hiccups have been happening nonstop for quite a few days now. Poor jasper is getting quite tired of them too. :( He's eating and drinking just fine but I am still concerned. Thank you for your help though :)

Poor boy! I hope that you can find a vet soon! Have you got an out-of-hours emergency vet service in the US?
