When I was away for a lengthy amount of time, my mum somehow taught the piggies that bar biting is the way to get exactly what they want. Their cage is right next to my bed/desk and if I’m in I’m always in my room, how can I stop them from doing it? Ignoring them is an option of course but with my fiancé having a short temper I’m always scared he’ll get angry at them or overreact as they bite for quite a while. I don’t want them breaking their teeth or injuring themselves doing this, and honestly it is really annoying! I always get woken up by them demanding food at least once per night now

Oh the little monies, sounds like they have been spoilt while you were away 🤔 Can you line their cage with cardboard so they cannot get at the bars? Otherwise you need to buy some ear plus and ignore them x

:agr: The more attention you give the more they’ll do it. They’re smart little things! Your fiancé will have to muster some patience and learn to ignore it.

I think we’re just going to have to ignore it, don’t think cardboard would survive Bruno. I just feel so awful walking away when they’re biting the bars, they have me where they want me :mal:

It is hard. Toffee developed the habit a while ago. At first we’d indulge him - what I mean is my husband would! But after coming on here and asking, we started ignoring it. He did stop and only did it the odd occasion when we were late with food 🙄

we’ve agreed to ignore them in the hopes that they’ll give up - I don’t mind too much if it’s when they hear me coming with veg but in the middle of the night is just too much
