Hi all!

New to the forum here but really curious if anyone has any idea what may be happening to my guinea's privates? I've tried researching as much as I can about boars foreskin, but not really showing any results. Is it possible for a guinea to have extra long foreskin? Please see the photo and tell me what you think! I have an appointment for him, but he is a new rescue and since he's been scent marking his new area, i've noticed it seems rather pink, maybe irritated? His free roam is in a carpeted room. Any helpful tips would be great if you've experienced this before! Thank you <3

Monday - He has definitely been going to the bathroom normally and hasn't made a fuss about it at all! So i'm just curious if this is quite normal and he just is enlarged? Thought i'd post and see what truly experienced owners think! Thank you so much for the reply and tags!

Looks a little sore. I’m sorry I have no clue but it’s good you’ve got him booked to be seen.

Does he have a friend? Piggies aren’t meant to be alone, so if you’re not planning to then please find him a friend to live with. Best way is through boar dating at a rescue. If he does have a cage mate then ignore all that 😁

Let us know how it goes at the vets.

It's possible it's just a bit of urine scald, if he's a rescue, probably a change of diet and the carpet isn't helping.

Thank you, i'll definitely take to these tips and see if it helps before his appointment. Appreciate it!

Looks to me like he could have a "cauliflower willy". Have a look at the boar care sticky thread for more on that. As it's therefore a bit more protruding than normal it could be rubbing on the carpet, especially when he is scent marking, and getting a bit sore.
The vet can maybe suggest something to help if it is sore.
