I've had my sows for 18 months, generally get on ok but ladt night they've been squaring up and lunging at each other. One is constantly chirruping.Last night ivseperated them I was so worried.
2 weeks ago I rehomed 2 girls but they are in another cage, that's the only thing thats changed.Really worried as I can't get another cage if I need to seperate....help please. I can video them

It's' possible one of the girls has come into season increasing her hormone levels and causing her to test the established hierarchy. The new girls may have caused the new show of dominance as though they're not together she can probbly still hear and smell the new arrivals- hey just because they're here now I'm still boss!

We don't advise separating unless blood is drawn or one piggy is getting bullied and can't eat or drink etc. However as you already have what is their behaviour like now? Are they looking for each other and wheeking or are they normal and seem happier now alone? If they are looking for each other it's a sign that they are indeed bonded and need to be put back together.

What's your plan for the other two girls? Are you looking to introduce them at a later date? If that is the case just be wary that you'e likely too see more dominance displays as the hierarhy is changed. X

They are back together today. I had to remove one last night as I was scared to leave them overnight. So put side by side. They are not lunging today and isn't so aggressive but its the less dominant that seems to be the instigator.Constantly chirruping. They've always just had a rumble when in heat.

If it's a drastic change in character, it can sometimes be caused by a piggy being ill- if you are worried that that is the case I advise you take them for a quick checkup by the vets just to be sure. :)

Thanks. They seem fine. Eat and drink together as normal. Running around living room. They are not as bad tonight. Thank goodness. If its a bad season, hopefully over tomorrow

They've calmed down but start up again if my new ones are out having floor time....not sure what to do.
