Help! Huge Lump Under Nipple With A Bleeding Hole!

I am not sure how to insert and image as i am new to this forum. There is a huge hard lunp underneath my guinea pigs nipple and a hole just under the size of a penny has appeard with a bloody-fleshy like consistency. Any ideas on how to treat or what it may be?
 
Hello, welcome to the forums.

Could it be an abscess? I'd take your piggie to the vets if you can to get it checked, he/she might need some meds. I'm not really sure about things like that, mines just had an op to remove a mammary tumour but that was underneath his skin, no hole or anything.

Maybe @helen105281 or @Wiebke can advise.
 
Its more than likely an abcess due to the hole and oozing you describe, but there is also the possibility it is some other form of mass.

You can bathe it with cooled boiled salt water to keep it clean and see a vet tomorrow. If the wound is bleeding profusely, the piggy is extremely bothered by it or seems in pain then i would try see a vet tonight if possible x

I will take her to the vets tomorrow as they are all shut now- i have been bathing it with warm salt water to try and cleanse it.

Wow - that looks pretty nasty.
Do you have an appointment for the morning?
Hopefully you can get it looked at by a vet asap.
But in the meantime cleansing with salt water will help.
Also depending on what bedding your piggie is on, maybe try putting her on towels or fleece for the night, so bits don't get stuck in the wound?

Please see a vet as soon as you can! If you have access to an emergency vet, then see them! :(
You can usually get the out-of-hours number from your regular vets answering machine.
 
I'm afraid that your piggy needs to be seen urgently by a vet. Please see if you can get to an emergency vet tonight, if not please get an appointment first thing in the morning.
 
Please please see a vet! Even if it's not a piggy savvy one they could at least clean the wound properly and perhaps prescribe a painkiller for your poor pig!
 
Hi thanks for all your help! And will.have to ring in the morning to get one -and iv made her a blue cloth bedding :)
 
owch looks painful, would ask the vet about metacam/painkillers if needed too.
i would see a vet asap that looks quite big :(

did it come up suddenly or gradually? Is it a hard lump or squishy/fluid filled? (dont squeeze it or touch it too firmly, if its liquid it might squish it further under the skin into a bigger area).

A mobile or static lump?

its a good sign she's still eating & drinking, thats always half the battle with poorly pigs.
at least she'll be comfortable on her new blue cloth bed :)
