Help my piggy won't eat he is trying but ends up spitting the food put! Also no water has gone from the water bottle since last night I have no money either so can't afford pet bills!

First of all can you sniff his breath, and let me know if it smells musty at all? like damp dishcloths? As the weather has been so humid fungal issues are on the increase, especially oral fungal.

Do you know if he can swallow? If so, please look at the hand feeding guide below:

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/complete-hand-feeding-guide.115359/

Do his incisors seem slanted at all?

He really does need to see a vet, is there anyone who can lend you the money or would the vets let you pay in instalments?

Yes he can swallow I have gave him some water and some veg and not sure about breath and no his teeth seem fine.

My other pig seems to be having some difficulty eating jus much slower than usual.

I will phone the vet tomorrow and ask!

It is odd that they are both having issues. Did he manage to eat the veg? is it hard food he is struggling with? can he eat hay?

When you say not sure about the breath, do you mean you can't smell anything?

Yes very odd and not really I had to put it in his mouth then he would eat it! I never tried hard food didn't want to hurt him and no I can't smell anything.

It's like he is trying to eat but as soon as he picks it up just drops it

I think there is something wrong with his teeth if he can't pick up food.

I am tagging @furryfriends Excellent Adventure Sanctuary who is most experienced with dental issues.

In the meantime, do you have any syringes? could you mush his pellets and syringe feed?

I have jus noticed a cut on my other pig it seems they have been fighting is it likely he hurt himself doing that ? should I separate them ?

Have a look through the hand feeding thread as you will need to cut the tip off.

It is possible, they may have knocked each other's mouths maybe, are you certain they have been fighting though and he has not cut himself on something in the cage?

Yes I think fighting he some times gets a hairless patch there but now there a cut and they keep grinding there teeth at one another.

The cage plastic n has no sharp edges n it's on his back so seem likely he been bitten

Ok it does sound like they may have had a fight, do you have the space to separate?

My other thought is a skin issue if he also has a hairless patch, and he may have been barbering himself.

Not right now tomorrow I could get my other hutch from outside right now they are sleep together.

Maybe but I'm not sure he could reach the spot

I'm so worried :(

If they are asleep together I am unsure if it would have been a fight.

I have to go to bed now but will check again when I get to work in the morning.

Please weigh them both daily too at the same time each day.

Oki the water bottle is still full it seems none of them have had a drink last night again

Morgan has the one with the cut only veg and maybe hay and dexter nothing i haven't fed him

Ok, did you syringe feed?

He really does need to see a vet if he is not eating for himself.

I know :( and yes syringe feeding I have phoned two vets and cosultation 18 but it any treatments are needed what do yoo think I'm looking at price wise so I can get a loan or something ?

It really does vary, maybe ask them over the phone first?

I only have my mum and dad but they have no money I pay for most things at home I did have £500 saved but after my car crash I had to spend that

Are any of you on housing benefit? If so you could use the PDSA.

My mum is put she has only one space left but I think I could do that for dexter as Morgan is eating and if need be jus go to normal vet with Morgan if he gets worse ?

Yes! But it's weird as they both not eating now both refusing food what could cause this ?

I really can't say without seeing them and even then am not a vet. My first thought would be oral fungal as it can strike out of the blue. However it may be something completely unrelated to the mouth which is making them feel awful.
