I put all three of my guinea pigs in the grass outside my house. Usually they stay close by, not running, so I thought nothing like this would happen. This time, when I set one of them down, they took off at the fastest speed I ever saw her run into a very thick bush. She is one that doesn't like to be pet or touched, so it is very hard to catch her. It is on a hill side, covered in thick bushes. I saw her poke her head out once but went back in. It's been about an hour and a half since it happened. The other two are safety in their cage. I have her favorite pellets out next to a plastic igloo, also her favorite one, in hopes she will come hide in a familiar hideout. I tried to find her with one of my pit bulls that likes to try and eat them haha but the one time I need her to, she's useless. None of my others care for them. We just moved to my new house and this has put me in the worst mood. If anyone has anymore tips, please let me know. I'm going to be here for a while.. I've had her for almost a year and I've grown very attached to her.

Do you have a front-opening carry box that smells of her friends you could leave out and monitor? She will probably be quite afraid now and the dog could well have spooked her further unfortunately. I think time is all you can give it if you have a tempting ‘safe place’ left near where you last saw her and just take the lesson to always use an enclosed run in future. Hope she comes back soon

Unfortunately, I do not. I left the area to leave her be. I will check back in a little bit to see if she ate anything or is in the igloo.

I too have lost my Guinea pig Stuart Little. I had him out in his pen last night! It was a mesh dog pen and the wind came up and spooked Stuart and now he is gone. I was in the house putting new stuff in his clean cage, came back and he was missing. I contacted a animal communicator and said he headed over to the neighbors house. So, I put his cage outside with all familiar surroundings and my scent. He has a hide way fleece triangle he hides in. Was last seen at 8:15 pm last night and I was up till 2am searching with a flashlight. Continued the search this morning still no piggee. Should I use a live trap? I am looking for suggestions. I keep looking under bushes, HostaStewart.webp plants, anything that is bushy. HELP! I am very sad.

It would be best if you started your own thread as you have brought up a thread from 2015 which means that your post could well get missed
