Hi,
I have some grids that I use for out side but now I want to use them as an indoor cage. What do I use for a base! I have 3 gps so I am going for 2 x 5 but need to find a base that I can use. Any ideas would be great! Need to do this as fast as poss as the cage they are in is too small and its toooo cold for them to be in an outdoor cage! Many thanks

you use something called correx (sp?) you can get it from b&q but you better ask someone else were to get it from because I'm not to sure.

I used lino, an offcut which was cheap and it worked fine, just fold the edges up firmly to contain the poops/hay

just to mention my idea with the waxed tablecloth didnt work, well it works fine, but Uther thinks its tastier than anything hes ever tasted, and he is gradually chewing his way through it :-\

I suppose it depends on the piggies whether or not that would work. Just for my girls it wouldnt be a problem, they arent nibblers.
It is really cheap, paid 7 pound for waxed tablecloth from Boyes, long enough to cover a 5x2 grid cage.

I think I will give that a go first with the waxed table cloth!

As you can see on this picture, the sides are a little bit floppy.

it helps just to put a few things close to the grids (I have a few houses and logs etc propped against it from the inside) but clothespegs will do fine aswell.

it is really cheap, easy to clean out, if you dont need it you just fold it up and I was quite satisfied with it.

Abnoba, how did you do the corners did you use anything like double sided tape?

I was just looking in a BUNNINGS magazine and found this...

Gutter Guard - 180mm by 8m roll for $2 its a huge grid roll... i think its made of plastic...

If i cut this up would it be okay to use instead of the normal cubes... because i have no idea where t get the other cubes lol

Where the grids connect in the corner, there is a little gap. I pulled the tablecloth through this gap, and then folded it on the outside (will take a picture for you). You can then secure it with anything really, I found paperclips work quite well, but I am sure double sided tape would do the trick aswell.
