Hey Everyone,

Thought i'd share this with you all...

I'm a Trainee Veterinary Nurse and also keen G.pig lover! :D Anyway for a long time now I have felt (along with a lot of other people!) that vets just don't know enough about pigs and that while dogs and cats have things set up for them guinea pigs miss out. So me and one of the other nurses I work with who also loves pigs have set up Guinea Pig Clinics in the vets where we work, we provide free health checks, advice, treatment and general chat to other pig keepers that want to talk to us. Its proving to be VERY popular at the moment with lots of people from our area coming to see us. Once I have qualified I am going to train as a rodentologist and specialize in G.pigs but until then I can be happy I am helping to look after the Pigs in my area :D So if anyone lives in or around Warrington in Cheshire your welcome to come and see us and show us your piggies :D x

How fab! shame I'm miles away :( Not many vets are cavy savvy near me. Its all about cats, dogs and rabbits

They do! they just write them off because they see them as "just rodents" :(

WOw that is fantastic news. I wish more vets were like you. Well done. You are going to be very busy and popular!:)

I know, hopefully with piggies becoming such a popular pet vets will actually sit up at take notice to them! :)
