Hi all. Does anyone use a Henry to suck up hay on the carpet?

My Vax isn't cutting it and keeps getting blocked.

I was considering ordering the Charles hoover (part of the Henry family) as it is more powerful, but if a Henry is good then I would order that as it is cheaper. It would just be for little bits of hay, I pick up any larger strands.

I have the cheapest vacuum possible from Argos. White plastic, tiny, the sort of thing you'd figure would be useless against guinea pigs. It is actually amazing, works really nicely on the carpet (and tiles in my kitchen) and it's bagless too.

Oh my goodness, I had a look online and it looks really good! Can't believe it's only £29.99. Bagless is even better. Thank you so much.

No problem! I couldn't remember the price off the top of my head, but I remember not expecting much of it for the price and it more than does the job. It is tiny though, so it'll need emptying more often, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Oh bother, it's out of stock in every single store within a 50mile radius and unavailable for home delivery! Back to the drawing board :(

Bummer :( well, in that case, my parents use a Henry. Three dogs have lived in that house, and Henry's still going, if that's a help?

(one Labrador, one Staffie, one Cocker Spaniel).

It does, thank you :) There are bagged versions of the little one that you were talking about in Argos, so I will need to look further into those. Thanks again!

I just looked for it as well. Out of stock all around me too. Must be really good!

Popular little things :)

I have ordered the larger, bagged version (£34.99) from Argos and will collect it tomorrow. The reviews are good. Will report back on it's effectiveness once I give it a whirl!

I hope it works as well as my wee bagless one. I got mine over a year ago and the reviews weren't all that great then, so I'd never even considered they'd be sold out, hah.

I burnt out a Henry last month :(

It was a great cleaner but it just couldn't cope anymore. It was five years old...

I know they are expensive but my Dyson has done a sterling job, ad continues to work well after 4 dogs, 4 guinea pigs, and whole lot of lego and glitter in between.

The Henry hoover in my student flat cleaned up a lot worse than hay...One of my flatmates lived in the flat the year before and would clean up vomit and ashtrays, you can imagine the smell.....

We had reuseable bags

We had to get a new Henry last year after the motor on our original burnt out :( Mind you we had had him for about 30 years so I think he had a great innings considering how much pet fur he must have hoovered up over that time - only hope this one lasts half as long

I can report that the £34.99 Argos hoover that I got is better than the Vax I currently have and the Dyson I had previously.

We've had our Henry since 1992 and is still going strong. Great little machine and I use him to suck up hay from the carpet. I do need to take his lid off to de-clog the hay at times from his tube (where is a blushing emoticon when I need one?) but once done he's just as powerful as from the day we bought him :)

Henry has been great for me. He has been hoovering up hay and any other bedding and poop the piggies ,rats and bunny scatter over the floor for many years now. With 6 pigs 8 rats and one messy house bunny thats a lot of hay and bedding :xd:
