HERBS for health

Do any of you feed your piggies dried herbs.

Mine currently has camomile (calming) and enchinea (boosts immune system) mixed with his food.

I have just ordered some marshmallow (good for colds/coughs) as he's a bit snuffely and some rose hips (vitamin C).
 
No but thats really interesting. Are these proven to work? I wouldn't mind trying them. :)
 
I haven't tried the last three but I really thing the enchinea has helped. I also have a couple of rabbits which I started giving it too after one got a respitory infection. I've had no probs since. Luck or actually working I dunno but anything that helps is a bonus. Humans take enchinea to prevent colds etc so their must be some logic in it.
 
wow thats really interesting, may try that, i'm interested in this with humans, and i know they can help :)
 
Lavander is brill for calming you down, I sniff it like mad when watching the footy....footy forgot about that! ;D
 
ok I'm going out to buy lots of lavender ;D any herbs which will wake me up? :D
 
There's a good ebay shop which sells all this sort of thing - Herbal High Magik. I've bought from them and delivery is really good.
 
Scrap that. Their last delivery was really late. They've now had the cheek to call me a cheapskate as I left neutral feedback! Needless to say I wont be buying again! >:D
 
My pregnant girl is having raspberry leaf and then milk thistle once she's feeding the babies - I take echinacea when I've had a cold or anything, haven't tried it on pigs though!

I always used to give dried raspberry leaf (sprinkled on the dry food dish) to my sows during the last week or so before delivery as I read somewhere that it helps with the delivery and the afterbirth coming away. I never had any problems at all with deliveries or afterwards.
