I've tried parsley and coriander with the piggies...parsley is a no 1 fave, coriander most of them like. What other herbs do your piggies like? Is dill popular? How about mint?

:) Do try not to overdo the Parsley :)
Dill is a big favourite with mine and a local shop does big bunches of it, the supermarket stuff is very uneconomical if you have lots of guineas and no reason why Humans and guineas shouldn't share if you only have a couple of Guins. Mine don't like Mint.

Some of my pigs like dill and basil.Coriander they are picky about.Parsley is def.top favourite.I give them parsley approx. twice a whee k.None of my pigs will eat mint.

I try to be careful with the parsley - buy it once every 2 or 3 weeks as a treat :) I think I will try dill, sounds popular! Will also try the others mentioned on this thread....thank you, I like to give my guineas lots of variety :)

Is it only parsley that needs to be limited? Are the other herbs ok to give more regularly?

Parsley is quite high in calcuim and I believe that curly parsley has high calcuim than flat leaf. Mine adore dill (although I hate the smell of) and I get bunches of it down the market, corriander, parsley. I've fed basil in the past, but I don't think this should be fed regularely.

I feed all herbs sparingly and to be honest I don't buy them regularly, though some are OK to feed regularly. I hardly ever buy Parsley, but do get them Coriander when I see it and Dill. They aren't keen on Basil and I've never found anywhere that sells it in nice big bunches, just the supermarket stuff ::)

I went to the supermarket earlier and got some dill - I think most of them like it, Bella seemed very impressed and put about 3 or 4 strands in her mouth at the same time!

cashmincal, I agree with you about the smell not being so nice, it's a bit odd, I can smell it on my hands now!

It's really hard to get out of your hand isn't it ;D But ah well anything for the piggies O0

my lot like corriander and parsley, i tried mine with fresh mint from my garden the girls loved it, but shakey bit some of chewed it then spat it out, and duke backed off from it like it was trying to eat him i think maybe it was too strong for my boys to handle?

I tried pasley with my 2 yesterday and today and they love it i'll probably let them ahve it once a month for a nice treat. Will try some corriander and dill next week with mine though they rarley turn anything down but corn :P

Coriander is the big fave here and they do love parsley too but only get that once in a while. I tried mint with them and they looked at it, sniffed it and went back to the coriander. Dill was fairly popular but I agree it STINKS! ;D

Basil is a hit and miss affair, some days they love it others they won't touch it. I believe there must be some difference between the flavour of the fully grown leaves and the young shoots as they will gobble down a large leaf but give the little ones a chew and spit them out.

Going back to the mint, I had terrible heartburn the same day and thought I would give it a chew to help settle my acid stomach. Frankly I can see why they left it alone now! It worked though but tasted foul.:P

mine like fennel, corriander and parsley, haven't tried any others, but will do :)
