Heston and the dreaded "summer cut"

Poor little Heston had to suffer the indignity of having his hair cut today. I've allowed him all winter to be a hairy beast, but its getting to warm for him now. This is his pre summer crop.

"Why are you following me you one eyed silver thing?"

"Think i could lift these?"

"I'm just going to nonchalantly nibble this box till you go away"

"Fine i grant you one ear rub"

"Ahhh finaly a chance to chillax in the sun!"

how are you able to cut him so nice? I have a sheltie who grows out of control and when i cut him it just looks awful.

I bet he's a lot comfier with that trim, even though he wasn't sure at first....

@MRSIR - practice is all i can say. I used to just go for the old chop it approach but it just end up with big thick chucnky layers and he (and his brother at the time" looked like they had gone through a shredder. Now i sit him on my lap facing away from me, give him somthing to nibble on and with the scissors pointing towards me just litterly skim off a few hairs at a time going down in layers. Alsmot like razoring hair. It takes a long time but it really thins his hair out and looks nicer. Although his bottom always looks a bit scruffy :s

@ Sarah - he certainly seems happier already, he always acts like a big girls blouse but i hope he realises he's far cooler after the ordeal.

lol thank i think he looks adorable with his short back and sides lol, like a respactable boy rather than some wild hairy monster. I have to say though, if those are your lads in your avatar i wish Heston could look that neat and nice with long hair! As soon aas he's been brushed he goes through great lengths to scruff himself up again!
